Answer to Trivia

I'm not sure if Ryan Gosling necessarily projects the rough and gruff nature of the Beast, but he was initially offered the role. He turned it down to appear as the lead in La La Land, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

Interestingly, Emma Watson had to turn down the role of Mia in La La Land because of her schedule on Beauty and the Beast. That role would later go to Emma Stone who won an Oscar for her performance.

This week, Ryan Gosling reteams with his La La Land director Damien Chazelle to bring the story of Neil Armstrong and the Apollo 11 moon landing to home entertainment with First Man.
